Crisp maker Burts Chips has created more jobs at its Plymouth factory following a £3m investment programme which has vastly increased production of the popular snacks.
Bringing its total headcount to 168, the dozen factory operative roles have been created following the installation of a second high-speed potato frying line that will boost production by 20 per cent.
This will see 200 tonnes of Burts' famous hand-cooked chips being made every week, alongside 23 tonnes of the fast-growing Better For You range of Lentil Waves and Quinoa Crinkles launched in the past two years.
The increase in capacity will help satisfy the growing demand for the brand from retailers across the UK, US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The new fryer is the company's second high-capacity line to be installed and the 10th overall at the Roborough production site.
