Plymouth City Council to defer business rates for 2 months

Date

In recognition of the current severe impact on business cash flow, Plymouth City Council is immediately deferring payments of business rates for 2 months so that businesses can pay their normal bills over 10 months rather than 12.

This short term emergency measure will enable businesses time to plan their cash flow and immediately prioritise payments to staff.

It is recognised that this announcement may be superseded by further government announcements in the coming days (the council is expecting further guidance Monday) and is in addition to the current support already announced. Details of current government support can be found here
