Over 1,000 businesses applied for the ARG before it closed on 4 May.
With a smaller pot of funding, this third round of ARG was prioritised for the following types of businesses:
- Those who had not received previous support from rounds one and two of ARG, and who had high fixed costs over £500.
- Businesses who were in the following priority sectors:
- Boat based businesses
- Childcare
- Businesses with packaged rent and rates
- Those who supplied highly impacted sectors such as tourism, hospitality and leisure
The applications for this fund have meant that we are oversubscribed and we may not be able to pay everyone who has applied if they do not meet the above prioritised criteria.
Of the applications received to date, over £750,000 has been identified to pay eligible businesses and business support programmes with payments starting to be made in the coming weeks.
Plymouth City Council’s business grants team is working as quickly as possible to review, verify and pay all applications by the end of June.
Successfully verified eligible businesses will receive a remittance email from the council’s finance team detailing the grant amount payable and a payment date.
We are aware that businesses have been waiting for a response relating to ARG applications and are working as fast as we can to get eligible businesses paid.
