Business Spotlight: Eddystone Media

Date

We recently sat down with Scott Grenney, an experienced Digital Media Consultant specialising in website design, marketing and social media management services at Eddystone Media to find out more about this amazing company right here in Britain's Ocean City.

Scott is also Co-Founder of One Plymouth a local media team dedicated to celebrating the #BestOfPlymouth.

What is the name of the company and how long have you been in Plymouth?

The company name is ‘Eddystone Media’ which has operating for over 11 years, I’ve been in business for over 16 if you count my freelance role prior to this too. I’ve always been based in Plymouth, and we focus on working with clients in the city and close surrounding areas.

What is the sector that you specialise in?

At Eddystone Media, we're all about crafting a powerful digital presence for businesses. We specialise in website design, social media management, strategic marketing, targeted promotions, and even live event coverage – all delivered through a digital lens. We understand the importance of bridging the gap between the online and offline worlds. We focus on creating digital experiences that not only look great, but also serve a real-world purpose: attracting potential customers who can become loyal clients.

In 20 words, how would you describe the business?

Specialists in building digital communities and supporting businesses, organisations, and events to thrive online by boosting their business/event exposure.

Do you supply to Plymouth/SW/UK-wide/overseas?

We focus primarily on Plymouth, but occasionally do work with businesses around the UK.

What would you say was your best-selling product/service?

Our Social Media Marketing packages which we’ve tailored over the years and always fine tune as the goal posts of social media keep changing and expanding. We also spent a lot of time studying on what makes people excited or interested in content to help keep us ahead of the game. We can also actively show many examples of our work and our live portfolio of work across our popular ‘One Plymouth’ network where we celebrate the #BestOfPlymouth which focuses on positive news from around the city.

What would you say is the best thing about doing business in Plymouth?

The people! The city is full of a diverse range of businesses, many that are eager to connect and collaborate in various ways. Plymouth is on the up, it has a lot of exciting growth opportunities as well as being a fantastic city to work, live and play within.

And what of the future … where do you see Eddystone Media in 10 years time?

A decade in the digital age is a whirlwind! With advancements like AI on the horizon, the landscape is constantly evolving. Yet, we will adapt, and our core values will remain: supporting Plymouth, celebrating its thriving businesses, and contributing in meaningful ways.

How do you spend your time outside of work

For downtime, I unwind with movies and shows, cheer on England's football teams (both men and women) and playing games – a fun throwback to my gaming industry days!

If you could have a business lunch with anyone who could significantly influence you/the business, who would that be and why?

It would have to be Steven Bartlett. I’d be interested in meeting the real Steven away from all the cameras and to find out what drove him to where he is today and his insights into where the digital world is heading.
