Business Expansion at Plymouth Science Park

Date

One of Plymouth Science Park’s newest tenants has announced significant growth, after just 7 months in business.

Having moved to the Park in June, just one month after its inception, Ultra Semi provides technical and consultancy services to companies in the semiconductor industry, offering them focused technical expertise in the areas of; process and device architecture, yield improvement, reliability assessment, test, failure analysis and project management.

The business expansion is in response to the notable interest in microLED displays for the next generation of augmented reality (AR) systems. This new type of display enables AR systems to be more portable, have a brighter image and a better battery life. This evolution in AR systems is well timed with the greater availability of data delivered by 5G.

Over the past 6 months, Ultra Semi has been working with leading companies within the field of AR and their expansion, from a business incubation space, to a larger office at the prestigious Plymouth Science Park, will enable them to provide additional engineering expertise to customers.

Clive Beech, Managing Director at Ultra Semi, is delighted about their growth and comments:

“In what has been a tumultuous year, we could not be more thrilled to be celebrating such rapid business expansion. Plymouth Science Park is an ideal location for Ultra Semi to be based, and we are very appreciative of the support that the Park has provided to support our growth. We look forward to growing the business further and firmly establishing ourselves within this prestigious science and technology community.”

Fay Davies, Business Development manager at Plymouth Science Park said: “We are delighted that Ultra Semi is expanding at Plymouth Science Park and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for this ambitious tech start-up.”
